Facebook Fight
NOTE: Alex's nicknames used here are Al, Chip(py), and Connor. The Alex with bad grammar and the red 2 beside his name is Alex's friend also named Alex. I've called him Alex2 on here before.

I thought it was entertaining at first. Then the Jessica girl posted this on his wall. I started to feel bad for him. Btw, Jessica is the girl he used to text a lot a couple years ago. I mentioned her on my old blog. Soon after he started texting her a lot, we stopped doing the sexual stuff.

The "you've changed" thing hit me kinda hard. He has changed. He's become cold, assholeish. I experienced that for years but now he's like that on Facebook too. I turned the same way in high school before I moved back with Dad. People said I changed too. I was an asshole to people also (still am sometimes).
I put this as my status last night and he responded today:

I feel really bad for him. I wanted to write *hugs* but didn't want to cross the line. I actually did want to give him a hug though :\

Kinda Sorta Came Out, But Not Really
As we were working in our groups, a cute blond boy behind us got up and left before he was supposed to. Matt said jokingly, "His boyfriend must be waiting for him." Then a few minutes later, I said that I couldn't wait to get out of class. Matt again joked, "Are you going to meet your boyfriend too?"
I said, "Maybe."
*we all laughed*
"Maybe he (the guy who had just left) is my boyfriend?"
*more laughter*
I said all that in a joking manner, so I doubt they took me seriously :P

Thankful
So, I am thankful for...
- Blogging
- All the friends I've made from each
Starting a blog is one of the best decisions I've made. A couple years ago I was in love with my best friend who no longer wanted to be friends. It took awhile, but I finally got out of that slump. I couldn't have done it without the help of the many friends I have made on here and continued through Twitter.
So thank you, everyone!

Words of Wisdom
"You mature in three main ways: physically, mentally, and intellectually. You have already matured into adulthood physically; that started at about 13 years of age and continued until you were 16 or 17. Intellectually, you are just starting to mature into adulthood. Good decision making is a learned process. That is why we have laws that say you cannot do this or that until you reach a certain age. Mentally, some of you have matured and some of you haven't. Maturing mentally is when you realize that you are not the center of the universe. It's not about you."
"You should be fluent in your native tongue."
"What you read and watch on television is directly proportional to how well you use your language. Some of you don't read at all, and it's obvious."
All of those were said by my English professor.
Oh, and all is quiet on the home front. I'll be registering for classes this week. I'm taking English II with the same professor next semester :)

Polar Opposite Days
During the first part of the day, I finished the take-home test. Then I had lunch and wrote the symphony post. By the way, I think I'll wear my suit with no tie. I like that look :)
The rest of the day (from 1p-5:30p), I was trying to wrap my head around auxiliary views. I won't bore you with what they are since probably none of you are interested in drafting :P I just couldn't get it and I got really frustrated. Knowing there was a drawing test during class, I had to know how to draw an auxiliary view.
By the time 5p rolled around, I still had a bunch of incomplete worksheets and I still didn't understand how to do an auxiliary view without looking at the book.
So I was angry with myself for not being able to understand it, frustrated with the class, and pissed off with the instructor, who is not cut out to be a teacher at all.
For the test, we had to draw views for each of the individual parts of a gyroscope, draw assembled views, one auxiliary view of the base, dimension it, etc. We had the entire class time to do it (3 hours). No one got done. I got most of the drawings done, but I didn't have enough time to dimension it and some of the other things.
Grr...
Today has been completely different though :)
I'm writing this with only half the day gone, so hopefully I don't jinx it :P
Anyway, I had English class this morning. As I've said before, I really like my English professor. I'm definitely going to take his English II class next semester.
Tuesday, we had to turn in a revision of our worst paper of the semester. Today, we graded another class's revisions. The exercise is to help identify mistakes in writing and know how to fix them. It better helps you as a writer identify your own mistakes. We've never done this exercise before. We were being graded on both our grading and the grade we got on our revisions. We were allowed to leave when we were done.
Barely 15 minutes into the exercise and people were getting done. A girl handed the professor the paper she was grading and he asked her why there weren't many marks on it. She said it was because she didn't see much wrong with it. He said, "So if I go over this paper, I won't find much wrong with it?" She said, "Well you might, but that's why you're the professor. I'm not here to be an English teacher." He just said "ok" and she left.
An older lady (early 40s maybe) and I were the last ones to get done. When it was just us left, the professor said, "And here you two are, the best writers in the class and the ones who will benefit least from this exercise, poring over these papers and are actually taking time to find the mistakes, correct them and are the last ones to finish."
That compliment made my day :D
Then the prof said, "That girl, when she said she wasn't here to be an English teacher, I thought to myself 'I don't want you to be an English teacher anyway.' If you're going to be an English teacher, you had better be fluent in your native tongue."
This guy is my favorite teacher <3
My Dad, being a minister, has to have exceptional English and speaking skills. My Mom, being a librarian and high school teacher, also has to have good English skills. I am glad they passed it on to me :)
Oh and if you were wondering, the paper I got had a lot of red ink on it after I was done :P I gave it a C grade, though he would have probably given it a D.

Dear LGBT activists,
STOP using this word to describe yourself! To me, other gay people, and homophobes; the word queer is a derogatory term! There is nothing good about the word. Stop using the same word the people who are working against us use as an insult!

Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear

Today, Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and Stephan Colbert hosted a rally in Washington D.C. Originally two separate rallies (Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity, and faux ultra-right conservative Stephen Colbert's March To Keep Fear Alive), the two combined their rallies after a permit problem (Colbert says he didn't know he was supposed to have a permit).

The rally included musical guests from Tony Bennett singing America the Beautiful, to Ozzy Osbourne, among numerous others. In my personal opinion, the musical entertainment left something to be desired. The Mythbusters, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, conducted experiments with the audience doing the wave, jumping all at once and recording it using a seismograph, and having the audience respond at once to sounds shown as words on the jumbotrons (i.e. laugh, silent, laugh like a mad scientist, laugh politely, cheek pop, and cheer).
Tens of thousands turned out for the event:

Skits were performed by Stewart and Colbert, including a "debate" on what to fear (see videos after this post).
Fears included:
Poison in our water,

Muslims (with Kareem Abdul-Jabar, basketball legend and Muslim making a cameo),

and robots (with Star Wars' R2-D2 making another cameo).

At the end of the rally, Stewart made this speech:
| Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear | ||||
| Jon Stewart - Moment of Sincerity | ||||
| www.comedycentral.com | ||||
| ||||
While I never watched The Daily Show or The Colbert Report before, I wanted to attend this rally. The reason for the rally, a call to tone down the noisy rhetoric and hate spewed by both sides of the mainstream media and other news outlets from MSNBC to CNN to Fox News, is one that I agree with 100%. It doesn't do anybody any good.
Unfortunately, I waited too long to start seriously planning the trip. A month ago, hotel rooms within my price range were all booked up. So, I was planning on driving down to D.C. early in the morning, then going home that same day. It would have taken me 6 hours at the most one way, so the idea was a little crazy (ironic considering the reason for the rally). It wasn't until last week I found out there were rally buses leaving from major cities, including Pittsburgh. However, the Pittsburgh buses were already filled. I begged Dad to let me go, but he wouldn't let me. I watched it on C-SPAN instead.
I thought it was a great rally and I hope it sends a message.

Now, for those who don't know, Stephen Colbert pretends to be a right-wing cable TV blowhard. His show, The Colbert Report, is used to show how utterly ridiculous some of the things you hear from news organizations actually are. Here now is a segment titled "Stephen Colbert's Fear For All" which highlights the "5 main fear groups." One of the 5 is homosexuality, which is why I'm posting this here.

Date Fail
So instead we changed the plan and decided to go to another semi-fancy Italian restaurant a bit closer to home in the city my college is in.
Buuuuttttt
I texted her right around the time she was supposed to leave her house to come to Dad's and she said some things came up at the last minute and she probably couldn't make it.
So we're gonna try for next weekend.

Purple Day Thingy
I'm not really that familiar with the concept but I guess it's kinda like wearing pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Anyway, I completely forgot about it this morning and wore a black shirt. Actually, I don't have anything purple other than an Easter tie...
So to make up for it, I changed my avatar on Twitter and some of the colors on my blog.
On another note, stay tuned sometime over the weekend for a proper blogpost. I'm going out with someone on Friday night.
That's all I'm saying right now.

English Journal II
Got my English journal back today. Like I said before, the prof didn't read them. He just made sure we had the required number of pages.
More about last night:
Not sure why Mark sat behind me. I should note that he was already there before I got there. He asked me a couple questions during class, and did stuff that prompted me to look at him (probably not done on purpose). Everytime I looked at him he was smiling. He has a lovely smile :D
Too bad he has a girlfriend...

Ok, so I guess there's a lot of concern about my last post. People think I'm unwillingly outing myself and all that stuff.
Well...
I did write that knowing full well that the professor *may* read it (not aloud). But, the whole journal is 21 pages long and the excerpts I posted are buried beween a bunch of other random garbage.
I think it is unlikely the professor is going to read my whole 21 page journal when he's got a lot of others. Also, grammar and form do not matter so he's not even going to look that closely at them. I think he's only looking to see if we have 21 pages.
Also, he certainly isn't going to read it out loud in class. And there is no way it is going to make it back to my Dad or anyone else.
Third, I know this professor is gay-friendly based on stuff he said during class once. He's also a very liberal guy.
So while I don't think there is any risk involved in writing that, I don't think there will be any bad consequences.
Oh and by the way, I turned it in on Thursday so it's too late now anyway :P
If I do get outed, as one commenter said, it's time

English Journal
I wasn’t sure if I should write about this in here or not, but I want to write about it now (and I need something to fill the space!). To come out and say it, I’m gay. I’ve known for a long time, but I only started accepting it when I was 14 or 15. Nobody knows except one person, Alex, who used to be my best friend. I’m afraid to tell my parents because I don’t know how they’ll react. Dad will probably have a negative reaction since he is a minister. Mom may have a better reaction because I remember her saying once that she doesn’t think “those people” have a choice.
We do not have a choice. I get sick and tired of people, who are usually straight, saying that gay people have a choice in the matter. Well, I never chose to be gay. In fact, who would chose to be gay and have the possibility of your friends and family hating you because of it? I certainly wouldn’t.
It seems that society is becoming more accepting of gays today than it was only a handful of years ago. That is another reason why I am a Democrat. Democrats are a lot more likely to fight for gay rights than Republicans are. Republicans seem to be the Conservative Christians who think we should use the Bible as a law book. I don’t think it’s good for society that we do that.
Since my Dad is a minister and a Republican, I walk this virtual tightrope between being gay and Christian. I go to church every Sunday. Not because I want to, but because it is expected since I live with Dad. I do like going because I get to see a lot of people I wouldn’t see otherwise. However, I don’t know whether I believe or not. It’s difficult to when the Bible basically says that God hates gays while still claiming He loves everyone. I’m in a difficult position.
I started blogging a few years ago when I was in a situation with my best friend and I couldn’t get help from my friends or family since that would mean they would find out that I am gay. Writing down details of the situation here would be tantamount to too much information overload.
Anyway, I have met so many great people from blogging. Since they live all over the world, I also have learned about their culture and society, too. My best online friends literally live all around the world. They live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and the Philippines.

Talking
(big deal)
Last week he came over to my desk to look at a sketch I did cos the teacher said mine was "the most authentic."
Then just a few mins ago I handed him the attendance sheet after writing my name on it and he asked me how to pronounce my last name. Then he asked of I have ever shot the rifle that shares my last name.
Both times made my heart beat fast D:
On another note, I'm getting over my cold kind of. Still coughing and sneezing, but no more sore throats or sinus headaches.

New House Pics!
So here's the grand tour :P

The garage is huge! The day I took these pictures, I turned my car around *inside* the garage so I didn't have to back out into the alley :P

This is the backyard as seen from the garage and the back of the house.

There is a small man-made pond and waterfall off to the side of the house. The previous owners couldn't take the fish with them, so they left them for us. There are a few goldfish, including the huge one seen above, plus two others. Not sure what kind they are.

Kitchen.

Screened-in patio/porch.

Sunroom.

This room will start out as Mom's office, but she and her BF are thinking about turning it into a bar.

Dinning room. The door on the right leads to the downstairs bathroom. Inside and to the left of that doorway is another small room that has the washer, dryer, and basement entrance.

Living room.

Master bedroom.

This will probably be my room.

Eventually we'll use this room as a guest room, but for now it'll probably be storage.

1 of two huge closets.

The bathtub in the upstairs bathroom has jacuzzi jets! :D
Stanley Steamer came Saturday and cleaned the carpets and tiled floors. Gas, water, and electricity have all been turned on.
I'll take a load of boxes with me tonight when I go back down to the college for my Tech Drawing class (ugh). I'll probably take some more down each day this week. Friday is the official moving day.

If you missed my post about it, I'm basically just the janitor for the church :P I just have to go in and clean once a week. Also cut the grass and snow removal. I start in two weeks.
It pays only $140/month (after taxes) until the church does the budget in two months. When they do the budget we'll see about raising it up to around $200.
Income will go primarily to putting gas in my car.

Job
Dad came home the other day and told me he found a job for me. He told me that he was at the post office and the guy who cleans our church approached him and told him he'll be resigning at the end of September because he can't keep up with all his other jobs (he does a lot of stuff for the city). So that job will be open at the end of the month.
I've actually been after this job since last year. The guy never did that great of a job since he did have a lot on his plate.
Anyway, the job doesn't pay that much but it is a lot more than what I make now :P The current salary (which hasn't been raised in years) is $150some a month, but Dad says he can probably get it up to around $200. If I get the job then I'd have to go in once a week (Fri. or Sat.) and do general cleaning. In the winter I'll have to do snow removal (which Dad and I were doing anyway).
Dad has to take everything to the Session next Sunday during their monthly meeting.

First Week of College
After the first day I realized I had picked the wrong major. I picked Architectural Drafting and Design with CAD since I like building 3D models. I thought that major was focused on CAD but it isn't at all. The major I wanted is called Computer-Aided Drafting Technologies. I'm not sure why I didn't realize my mistake earlier...
Anyway so I changed my major Tuesday morning. I was already taking 3 required classes so I just had to drop 2 from the original major and add 2 more for the new major. The two new classes are Technical Drawing and Intro to Microcomputing.
The microcomputing class is really just a basic computer class where you learn how to operate a computer and use Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I already know how to do all that stuff so I was able to "test out" of that class. I had to pay $156 and take the final exam. I passed with an %80 which is a B. Since I passed I get full credit for that course but don't have to go to any classes or anything. That means I only have to take 4 classes now.
Speaking of my schedule, it's a little weird. Basically I have a class every morning then a class from 6-9 every night except Fridays.
MWF I have Technical Math I from 9-10 then Technical Drawing from 6-9 (except Friday)
Tues. and Thurs. I have English I from 9:30 to 11 then Intro to AutoCAD from 6-9. Since there is a big gap between classes, I go home after the morning class. It takes 45 minutes one way and it's ~25 miles so I'm putting ~100 miles on my car a day :\ At least until Mom officially gets the house which is only 10 minutes away from the college.
I've made one friend already. A female :P We met Tuesday when I was waiting in a lounge for my night class. We have the same Intro to AutoCAD class.
There is also a guy in that class who is also in my Tech Drawing class. He's cute but straight :P He's the only cute guy I've noticed in any of my classes D:

On the fly post
1. College has started of course
2. I changed my major
3. Because of that my schedule is totally different and crazy.
Basically each day (except Fri.) I have a class in the morning then a class from 6-9 at night. Fridays there are no night classes.
Now, there is a class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:10 to 3:35. It's a basic computer class that is required for my new major. It teaches Windows applications, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Since I know almost everything covered already, I'm going to try and "test out" of it tomorrow.
I'm have to go get ready for my next class (I'm at home right now), so I'll make a better detailed post over the weekend or when I have time.
See ya!

College Orientation
I got there around 12:30 and planned on going to the bookstore to pick up my books which had already been ordered. I saw people going into the auditorium already so I just went there instead. They had a small band from Pittsburgh entertaining us before the program started. I'm sorry I didn't bring earplugs...
Speakers included the college president, a lady from Student Services, another lady from ACE which is tutoring and whatnot, and a really funny guy at the end. He called up a male and female from several different categories (new college students, parents, people with blue eyes, athletes, etc) to show us how diverse the school is. Speaking of diversity, I've check twice and they do not have a LGBT club/organization.
Next we were split into groups according to our program of study. There are two architecture groups: Drafting and Design and Mechanical Engineering. Me and 5 other people are majoring in Drafting and Design. We met in our main classroom with the department head who also teaches two of our classes - Architectural Graphics and Intro to Architecture (which is a history class).
He went through a lengthy Power Point about the different projects we'll be working on throughout the semester. It seems really interesting. We'll also be working with the guy who founded what is now a major architectural firm in the city my school is in. The guy turns 90 tomorrow O_O Random Fact - He flew p-51 Mustangs over Germany in WWII.
After he was done talking we headed over to the cafeteria building where they had information set up about clubs and sports. Nothing I'm really interested in. Their clubs sound kinda boring actually lol. All students got a free lanyard and student planner. It's the same kind of student planner I had at my old school and they are really handy!
After getting that stuff I went over to the bookstore where I had to get a ticket and wait in line for 20 minutes. Luckily there is a lounge right there with comfy couches, armchairs, a fireplace with a TV hanging above it. When I was finally able to go into the bookstore I just gave one of the girls my receipt and she went and got my books. They are heavy (and expensive)!

I still had to get my parking permit, but I wasn't going to lug those heavy books plus a bunch of papers around so I walked all the way back to the car to drop them off. All the way back over at the "Student Success Center" I had to get a card and put down info about my car and pay $30 and they gave me a pretty yellow parking permit :P
After that I was done so I came home :)
It takes me about 45 minutes both ways. I can't wait until Mom gets the house so I won't have to drive as far in the winter or when I just don't feel like coming back here lol. I haven't timed it but I think it only takes 10 minutes to get from the new house to the college.
Mom formally takes possession of the house on Sept. 15th (a Wednesday), then her BF is paying for cleaners to come the following day or two. So we'll have that weekend to get moved in. I'm getting a new bedroom suit (double bed, dresser, nightstand) so I won't have to use my crappy old stuff and I won't have to move anything out of Dad's house except for clothes and all that stuff.
I can't wait!

John Williams' work on the original Star Wars movies are some of his best, in my opinion. Here is the main part of "The Battle of Hoth - Part 1" featured in The Empire Strikes Back. This action piece is one of the most fast-paced I've ever heard. It's really good :)

I have a 3 hour orientation on Friday at my college. My old friend Andrew is going to the same college so I'm thinking about sending him a message on Facebook to see if he wants to meet up while we're down there.
So, I'll blog again after I get back from orientation.

New Poll! Finally something interesting on this blog! ;)
On Twitter an interesting topic came up regarding which term people use when they're talking about masturbation. The 3 most popular on Twitter are jack off (American), wank (British), and a new one: fap.
So out of curiosity (and a little competition between the Brits and Americans), I'm asking which you use when talking about jacking off *cough* I mean masturbating?
You are allowed to select more than one!
My answer: I use all of them lol

Ignored :( ::UPDATED::
Sooooo I sent another one. Yesterday I looked and the "add as friend" button was there again! So I guess he doesn't remember me.... Also there is usually an option to add a message to your friend requests, but he apparently has that disabled. So I can't even message him!
Ugh...
::UPDATE::
One of Jacob's female friends posted a few days ago that she was going shopping "with Jacob." I assumed that meant the Jacob I'm talking about. So after some encouragement, I commented on that post saying, "Jacob (last name)? Tell him I said hi! I sent him a friend request but I guess he ignored it... I don't think he remembers me haha." Not even two minutes passed when she replied, "haha ok i will! I'm going over his house later so i'll mention it to him! :)"
So... I don't know what's going to happen now haha.
I'm disappointed they didn't perform this at the Star Wars concert cos I love it haha

Goodbye Old Friends
Also Saturday I had to take two of the cats the neighbors had left behind and dump them off near the home of a lady who works for the PSPCA. She houses animals she rescues until she takes them to a proper shelter. Every shelter in our region is over capacity and so is our house. We would have had to wait until Christmas time before the humane societies were able to take in anymore cats (that's crazy!) The one cat already gave birth months ago and is pregnant again, and the other one is pregnant too. We couldn't have any more cats in our house and we couldn't take them anywhere so I was forced to take them out there in the middle of the night and let them loose with the hope that they would wander over to that lady's house.
They were outside cats so they can take care of themselves in the wild, but they were pregnant...
Ugh I feel bad about doing it, but I had to...
*sigh*
Now we have 1 dog and 8(!) cats. Hopefully we'll be able to get rid of a few more soon (by using more humane means).
